Harris and Zolton Direct Zips on Day One of Campbell/Wright Invitational

AKRON, Ohio - University of Akron junior Maurice Harris (Toledo, Ohio) and redshirt freshman John Zolton (Tallmadge, Ohio) finished second and third, respectively, in the men's hammer to direct the Zips' efforts on the opening day of the Campbell/Wright Invitational on Friday, May 5, at the Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex.

Harris registered his top mark of 177-8 (54.16m) on his opening throw of the competition, while Zolton recorded a throw of 149-3 (45.49m) on his fifth of six attempts.

Akron returns to action on Saturday, May 6, as the Zips close out the final day of the Campbell/Wright Invitational at the Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex. The women's javelin will get action underway at 11 a.m., before running events are scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
